[2x Match] Give Animals a Second Chance At Life

[2x Match] Give Animals a Second Chance At Life

And so over the next 10 years, we:

  • Built trust with the people by showing that we are an organization that is committed to their well-being.
  • Created jobs by hiring and mentoring 3 female veterinarians and 7 support staff.
  • Built a full-service animal hospital that provides medical care, vaccinations, and surgeries for 4800 animals annually – at little or no cost to pets' owners.
  • Reduced the population to 200 by spaying/neutering 90% of the 500 street dogs in Cotacachi.
  • Offered humane education programs for children and adults.

The ripple effect of these efforts has been life-changing.

The quality of life has dramatically improved for free-roaming dogs. They’re healthy and well-fed, and pregnant or lactating females no longer roam the streets. The people value these dogs and treat them well because people like you have invested in them.

That’s why our work must continue.

The surrounding Indigenous villages are facing severe animal overpopulation and poverty such as the village of La Calera, home to 330 families and 1361 animals (most of them roaming, starving, and not spayed/neutered).  Without our services, the population of unwanted animals will continue to rise, which in turn will result in an increase in deaths of unwanted dogs and cats. To ensure these animals get a second chance at life, we must raise an additional $65,000 to spay/neuter, vaccinate, and provide medical care to the dogs and cats of these villages.

Will you consider making a meaningful gift to help the animals and people of Ecuador? If you donate today, your gift will be doubled up to $50,000 by a generous donor!

Thank you for your commitment to animals!
