Rascal Fund
The Rascal Fund was created in memory of a very tragic story of a dog in Cotacachi. An emaciated, tortured and very ill 4 month old puppy was captured from the highway and brought to Amici Cannis Hospital de Animales for treatment. Based on Rascal’s condition, it was obvious that he had spent his short 4 months of life on the streets. We attempted emergency medical intervention for everything from his severe emaciation and compromised gastrointestinal tract to his severe skin wounds. Despite 24 hour supportive emergency treatment and care, Rascal succumbed to his diseases.
Our team and community were devastated and greatly impacted by the suffering that Rascal experienced. We can only find solace in the fact that he was loved, comfortable and valued in his last days while in our care. We believe that this fund, in memory of Rascal, will allow us to act in an emergency situation for other animals in crisis. RIP Rascal
