On January 31st at 1 p.m., something truly special happened in Cotacachi. After years of dreaming, planning, building, and believing, our community gathered to officially open the new Amici Cannis Animal Hospital. The celebration began with the warmest welcome: tables filled with local foods and drinks generously donated by our incredible sponsors, including Río Intag, Athena Brewery, Coo Coo’s Nest, La Verde Oveja, Kafeto, and many others who helped turn the afternoon into a feast of flavors and friendship.

As guests arrived, the hospital filled with energy. Children darted from room to room, discovering face‑painting stations, coloring tables, and even a dress‑up corner where they could become veterinarians for the day. More than 250 people came to explore the new facility, and each area of the hospital was hosted by a member of our team, who proudly shared the work that will take place there and answered questions from curious visitors. The rain held off just long enough for everyone to enjoy the moment together, neighbors, supporters, volunteers, and families standing side by side to celebrate a milestone that belongs to all of us.

What unfolded that day was more than a ribbon‑cutting. It was the beginning of a new chapter for Cotacachi, a promise to the animals who depend on us, and a legacy built by the hands and hearts of this community.
